I'm studying for my CISSP exam on Saturday. It's really bloody hard going, but I think I might make it. Anyway, the textbook study-guide I'm reading from contains the line:

DCOM uses a globally unique identifier (GUID) and DCE usees a universal unique identifier (UUID)

My first reaction was to wonder if this means that DCE is the only standard safe to use on other planets?
