Can anyone help me out on this one?
I was looking through my T610 address-book this afternoon, and found a weird entry. So I tried to delete it. Immediately, the phone rebooted... and has continued to reboot every thirty seconds since. I might get ten seconds of interactivity with my phone between reboots, but trying to do anything (including the Master Reset) just causes another reboot.
Lots of hourglass and "please wait" happening.
Tried pulling the battery. Tried pulling the SIM card. Tried booting without the SIM card. Tried leaving it for half an hour without the battery in and booting again. No luck.
Of course, this had to happen while I'm in a foreign country, kinda relying on my phone to keep me in touch with the various people I'm trying to visit, and pretty much as far away from my phone company as it's possible to get.
Is there some key-combination that I can hold down to boot in diagnostic mode, or trigger a master reset without going through the menu, or generally just cause my phone to wipe its memory and restore itself to factory settings?
Or is there somewhere neat in SF where they might be able to give my poor, ailing phone the breath of life?
If you're getting a few seconds of use out of it try either:
(a) Settings -> Maset Reset -> Reset Settings
(a) Settings -> Maset Reset -> Reset All
Either should return the phone to factory settings but (b) will also wipe your phone book.
Ian.
Oh, the default security code is "0000" by the way.
Hope this helps!
Evil, huh? You could try the old-fashioned combo of some garlic and a crucifix as well ;)
If Master-Reset doesn't work, you should try to seek a service-point:

Maybe they can Re-Flash the firmware. But try to call the shops first, sometimes the list is waaay out of date.
The SE Phones do have a Service-Menüü, but there isn't really anything interesting you can do from there. If you still want to try, you reach it by using the left-right and star-buttons as follows (don't mind the display):
> * < < * < *
LOL, that "service menu" even works on my SE P800 with touch screen, just use that wheel on the left side of the phone and press the screen on the place there the * is :)
Anyway, it's useless unless you want your IMEI number or supported codecs and bandwidths, software version, etc.
And sorry I don't know a fix for that T610 problem.
Funny, having the same problem - Tried the master reset and it says it may take a while. I've now been waiting for a day for it to reset!
Does any one know where the sony service centres are (west london if possible)? Their site is useless for this info and sending them a message is a complete waste of time
Does a software update always solve the problem?
Thanks
ARGH! I am also having a the same problem.
has anyone here tried getting their hands on a different t610 battery? how does that affect things?
PLEASE! someone give me a helping hand here!
Out of curiosity - how long have you all had ur phones? Mines 1 year old as of 08/08/04... are we all experiencing a 1yr batch fail?
HEEELLPPP!!!!!
I ended up getting mine fixed by taking it in for a software upgrade.
Hi!
I did also have the same broblem, it reboots like every 15-20th second. Is it free to re-flash it?

Hi
I got my phone from eBay - hence no warranty no support. Ended up buying a flashing kit from eBay (£20) also and reflashed the phone myself.
It still crashes intermittently about once every 2 days - but I can give it a hard reboot (take the battery out and replace it) and it seems to solve the prob.
I'm not sure though whether it may be a hardware problem as the phone will also do its 'rebooting thing' occasionally when it is switched off and charging.
dammit i just bought this phone, maybe i shouldnt have...
maybe y'all should have gotten t630's like i did!!!
