The t in "step" is really bugging me. I think the horiontal bar should be lower.
Actually it's a territorial issue--they're hoping that the users of these stairs will adopt one of the steps in question, and tend to its upkeep personally...
Of course, this could lead to disputes and squabbles about certain undesirable elements, who think they can just prance right on the top of your meticulously-cleaned step without permission.
Hopefully this place will be able to avoid border wars...
Yes, people with impaired vision should stay in their flats where they belong. If not, then they should expect to fall down stairs.
This sort of thing (placarding) will only encourage them to try to mix with us normal people.
Then the next thing you know, they'll be wanting us to put ALT tags on our images, provide alternatives to Flash menus and imagemaps, and have scalable font size, just so that they can surf our Web sites. The nerve...
It's a very well-lit, wide and obvious staircase. Anyone who is too blind to see the stairs would be _far_ too blind to be able to read the warning sign.
Speaking as a blind person, I can honestly say that putting a sign at the top of a set of stairs that says "watch your step", is about as retarded as putting labels on toothpicks to explain how one uses them. In other words; I think most folks know how to use stairs, and anyone who wouldn't know, is likely not able to make use of such a sign. Are people that pick-nosed that they need to be led around by the hand and explained the obvious that much? Sad for humanity if not.
Seeing eye dogs can't read, anyhow. If they're worried about the stairs, colour the edges better so they can be seen, don't put a fucking sign on that's about as useful as tits on a bull.
cool cite! was just looking for somethings and landed here, but took the time to look around and see the cool things you have here!
