Many Replies

!joe posted a few interesting things to which I shall reply.

I'm reading The Pragmatic Programmer: From Journeyman to Master

That's on my list of books all Java programmers should read.

Do you post things in your blog as a personal reminder?

I never used to. Both and Livejournal, my previous blogging tools, lack a search interface. MT, on the other hand, allows you to search back through entries, so it's easy to look back and say ‘ah, I wrote something about that, what was it?’ and actually find an answer.

Ruby, ugh, another thing to put on the todo list...

When one of my cow-orkers came back from XP Universe last year, he reported that all the luminaries were touting Ruby as the ideal scripting language. So I bought Dave and Andy's Ruby book in hard copy, and I must admit I really like the language. Unfortunately, knowing Ruby is really getting in the way of me learning Python, which is probably a bit more career-friendly.
